Your iPhone Can Beam You Up, Scotty

So the kids were chasing each other around the room and making a lot of noise while I was unsuccessfully trying to get my new iPhone 4s to connect to my old bluetooth headset. And when the noise got so loud and I still couldn’t get the stupid bluetooth to connect, I resisted my first impulse, which was to yell at the kids to get the heck out of the room. Instead I pushed the control button and held it down and said to Siri, the automated assistant, “Siri, can you beam me up to the Starship Enterprise?” And who’da thunk it, Siri actually has a response programmed for that request.

(The first time the response was, ‘First remove your belt and empty your pockets.’ Something like that. The second time she just said, ‘Energizing …’)
